GUM X SERIES

GUM-X Series is the latest generation of MICHELIN Wild Advanced MTB compounds.
* available on all new ranges MICHELIN Wild GRIP’R Advanced and MICHELIN Wild RACE’R Advanced Ultimate.
All the MICHELIN knowledge and latest compound technology have been used to meet the mountain bikers’ highest expectations.
It offers the best compromise between grip, rolling efficiency and mileage.
The GUM-X Series compounds are declined in different shore hardness’s (durometer):
The more the index is low, the more the gum is soft, and conversely,
the more the index is high, the more the gum is hard.

A tyre should have:
- either one shore index on the tread pattern.

- or two different shore index at the center and shoulders: harder at the centre to decrease the rolling
resistance and the wear / softer at the shoulders to increase the grip cornering and slopes.

WILD GRIP'R ADVANCED
  • Block reinforcement (blue part)
  • The central blocks repartition is optimized to provide the best compromise between grip, rolling efficiency and self cleaning abilities.
  • The bases of the central blocks are reinforced for better stability and robustness.

Bridging (green part)
The shoulder blocks pitch, height and inclination angle are optimized for constant and highly
efficient cornering grip.
The steps at the base of the blocks increase the edge rate, providing a supplementary amount
of grip when cornering.
The cut into the base of the external face of the shoulder blocks confers to the blocks
a bi-modulus behaviour: the blocks are mobile under small deformations and become stiffer
under bigger deformations. The shoulder blocks pitch, height and inclination angle are optimized for constant and highly efficient cornering grip.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
Innovation in the MICHELIN Wild range - MICHELIN ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY is available on 127 TPI tubeless and certain tube type tyres.
Michelin Advanced Technology applies Michelin expertise on the most fundamental components of a tyre:
- The Architecture of the tyre, consisting of beads and casing plies
- The tyre Tread
- The Materials or, to be more precise, the compounds
