1955
- 1964 Bibendum sweeps all before him: Expansion during the 1960s and '70sMichelin's innovative X steel-braced radial tyre presented the company with the challenge to meet a vast potential for international growth. New factories in Burnley (Truck tyres) and Belfast (Car tyres) were opened during this period. The image shows a Tate & Lyle sugar tanker. The company were a well established user of the X tyre.
