You have a question? Perhaps a technical problem and you would like to know more?
Have a look at our FAQ's or contact us by mail if you can't find your answer online.
How can I check if my car tyres need replacing?
In the grooves of the tyre, there are tread wear indicators. These are small bumps exactly 1.6mm high which is the legal minimum tread depth. If the main surface of your tyres are level with the top of the tread wear indicators, you must replace them.
You can easily identify where the tread wear indicators are because on the side of the tyre, you will either see the abbreviation 'TWI' or a small Michelin man.

In winter, must I change the pressure of my tyres?
YES. When the temperature is below 7 degrees C, the pressure in your tyres can be reduced. You should increase your cold tyre pressure by 0.2bar than the regular pressures.
Must I always fit new or less worn tyres at the rear of my car?
YES. Whether you have front or rear wheel drive, we recommend that you use newer tyres for the rear set, for extra safety in unforeseen or difficult situations (emergency braking, tight bends etc) particularly on wet surfaces.
