Pro 4 service course tread flaking

sammy - April 11, 2021

Do these tires have any warranty? Or is thee a known bad batch of them? Bike was inside on a trainer since getting them and just noticed when moving them over to my road set of wheels that the tread is delaminating and flaking off. Unsafe to ride on as you can see the underweave of the tire. They literally have 0 miles as they have the castings on the tread still. back to contis i go.

Is this a fake?

Houblon - January 26, 2021

I've been using Pro3s for years, and pro2 before that. No problems at all, racing, training, touring and commuting. Love them. So I bought a Pro 4 service course. After the first ride, cleaning road filth off the tyres I notoced that the sidewall was flaking. Taking it off the wheel, just about all the sidewall crumbled to dust, reveling the carcass. The sidewall doesn't seem like rubber at all, more like paint. I certainly won't be riding this tyre again. Do I have a fake? If someone from Michelin would contact me I could provide photographs. If it turns out it's a fake, I'll withdraw this review and write another based on a real Michelin.

I started using the Pro3 Over 10 years ago. Pro4 looks solid. By far the leader in tires.
