I got a call after a recent tyre change here recently to tell me about some 'dangerous' faults they'd found while my car was on the ramp. Over ÂŁ600 worth of 'dangerous' faults, which seemed a lot given that my normal mechanic has worked on the car recently. I took the car away from the increasingly unimpressed Selecta mechanic ("but it's dangerous love") and took it to my normal mechanic.
The dangerous oil leaks? A little bit of overspray from a recent underseal. The wishbone badly damaged? Just needed a ball joint.
I hope I'm mistaken but I believe Selecta have their guys on commission and someone spotted an opportunity for a nice little earner before Christmas. Not impressed with this at all - if it genuinely needs work doing I will absolutely pay, but don't try and use the fear card to get people to pay for nothing.
If you're being pushed a bit too hard by a garage for immediate work (which is what started ringing alarm bells for me) absolutely take it away for a second opinion!
Selecta, this isn't cool.

The most helpful service I’ve had for a long time. Everyone is really friendly here, Ryan in particular was incredibly helpful by fitting me in at short notice and making sure my tyres were safe for a long journey.

Our T5 developed a rumble on the passenger front wheel. Called ahead and Selecta Tyres Buxton told us to call in straightaway. Turned out our wheel nuts were loose. The mechanics were really helpful and checked and tightened all the wheel nuts of charge. Really grateful to them for sorting this immediately and keeping us safe and on the road. Couldn’t ask for a better service. Thank you.

Took my vehicle here for a puncture repair. Was told i needed a new tyre as the internal side wall was damaged and dangerous.
decided to get a 2nd opinion only to discover this was not the case and the tyre was fine just needed a simple repair.
beware or better still avoid !!

Taken here by a breakdown company after a collapsed wall ripped my tyres. Quick service, nice waiting area, friendly staff.
