Terms of publication and processing of reviewsFantastic dry grip and handling
Dry grip and handling of this tyre are fantastic, I had the cup 2 in a 225/40/18 on a fwd car however performance in the wet is extremely lacking - as would be expected with a tyre of this type. Tread wear is as to be expected with a soft tyre compound.

I can whole heatedly recommend placing Michelin's excellent Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres (with N0 Porsche fitment) onto your car! Even if you don't do track-days! Perfect for fast road and road trips into Europe. They may only come with 4.2mm of treat from new but wear rate so far has been great. This is due to lower block wobble due to a lower original height so a lower build-up of heat, from any potential wobble/movement. Grip is raised over my previous PS4S tyres but what i really Really REALLY love is the enhanced steering feel. You do feel an improvement in turn-in and feedback. For those who've heard or read above wet grip, don't believe it. It's way better than you can imagine for the type of tyre it is. Don't let the chat put you off. I have had 2 punctures with these Cup 2's (in the same tyre!) on the road but this might just be had luck! Don't think it's a result of the softer tyre. If you can find them at a good price then go for it. If i can, I might even try the incredible Cup 2 R's on the Pug next then take it to the Nurburgring! Imagine that!?!

Purchased for their blend of track and road performance. On track seem to perform better than previous generation both on initial use and when warm.

- MICHELIN Pilot Sport Cup 2 & MICHELIN Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect* are semi slick track tyres optimized for dry track use. The ultimate version MICHELIN Pilot Sport Cup 2 R is optimized for extreme dry performance on race tracks.
- On wet tracks or roads semi slick tyres, and especially in a worn state, can be highly impacted by aquaplaning phenomena. Drive carefully and with reduced speeds on wet roads. Make sure as well that the vehicle assistance systems are switched on. However, these tyres meet the legal requirements for use on the public highway and open roads of the countries where it is distributed.
- For track and road handling reasons, the fitting of a set of four tyres is strongly advised.
- Complementary information for the use of MICHELIN Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyre: as a special tyre for extreme dry conditions, MICHELIN Pilot Sport Cup 2 R requires a warm-up phase, comparable with racing tyres to ensure to reach his optimal performances.
- If not used for a prolonged period of time, remove the tyres (mounted on their wheels) and reduce their pressure to half their normal value to store.
- Store tyres in a clean, dry area, away from direct sunlight and ozone sources (electrical devices and materials/chemicals) and above 0°C (32°F) in accordance with the information provided by Michelin in technical documentation or websites.
- Do not use, store, handle or ship the tyres at ambient temperatures below -10°C (14°F).
- Under these conditions the tyre components can degrade, resulting in reduced performance, and at low temperatures can lead to cracks or damages to the tyre compound and hence reduce potential in use.
- Never use a tyre with cracks, breaks or damage to the sidewall or tread. In case of doubt please consult your local Michelin technical department.
- When used for long periods in an intensive manner on circuits, please be aware that damage can occur to the tyre and its carcass from regularly running over the kerbs at the edges of the circuit.
- It is advisable to visually check the tyres after each run, prior to going back onto the circuit.
- In case of prolonged running over the kerbs (or also running heavily off the track) it is advisable to verify the internal condition of the tyre and it’s construction by demounting it from the wheel and having it professionally inspected for any damage, both on the interior and the exterior of the tyre.
- On the track, geometry settings (camber primarily) can be modified to improve cornering speeds and grip through maximizing tyres' footprint and also to prevent excessive wear/fatigue to the outer shoulder.
- Camber: for optimal results on a track, the negative camber settings should be between -1.5° & -3° dependent upon the track and the type of vehicle. Never exceed -4° of negative camber.
- Camber values for road use must be based upon the recommended « road » settings to ensure the correct handling and behavior for both the vehicle and the tyres.
