Primacy 5 TYRE REVIEW

Excellent tyres. Same tyre type and brand that came with the car new.

I think they have developed improved feel as they are wearing in. It's hard to be absolutely objective with little to compare them too. But I would suggest I good safe bet of a summer tyre which did get us through the winter with little issue.

I bought these tyres because I've had Michelin's before and they were one of the best. These new ones do not disappoint. The tyres seem very comfortable and it feels like there is less rolling resistance than my previous brand, so fuel economy seems slightly improved. Braking is very good in all conditions, but then you would expect that from new tyres. Will be interesting to see if they still perform once they start wearing. Cornering, steering response, and noise are all good, and I'm very impressed with these tyres. They are one of the best I've had over the years. My only criticism is that they feel a little bouncy compared to my previous brand. I went for the extra load version, so they have thicker walls. (I'm glad I did, because the normal ones are probably even more bouncy). I did think this would be a problem when cornering, but they still perform very well in corners and the grip is excellent. Overall I'm very impressed with these tyres and I would definitely buy them again. However, I think next time I'll buy two Bridestones just for comparison. I've had Bridgestones before and I highly rate them also, but as I now have a different car with wider/lower profile tyres, I'd like to compare them again. The Bridgestones are also cheaper which would be a factor. However, if the Michelin's last longer, then the cost may average out or may even be better value for money. Other tyres I've been impressed with in the past : Continental Premium Contact 5 : Excellent tyre with fantastic braking capabilities. These would have been my top recommendation but they are very soft and didn't last as long as I'd hoped. Dunlop Blue Response : Great all round performance tyre and good value for money. Nothing fancy but gets the job done.

They perform well in wet weather and icy conditions. No problems cornering. The ride is comfortable

As I have already confirmed to you - I will never again purchase Michelin tyres !

As advertised. Quieter, less road noise , softer ride, car feels more stable.
