I visited this store to collect a couple of items listed as in stock (5+ available) and available via Click & Collect or in-store purchase. I went straight to the stated aisle, but the items were nowhere to be found. I asked a member of staff for help and was met with a rude, dismissive attitude. I was told, “If it’s in stock, it’s in stock. If it isn’t, it isn’t.” After I showed her the website listing, she agreed to check. She then returned and confirmed the items were in stock, but not on the shelves. When I asked if she could retrieve them from the warehouse, I was told everything available was already on the shelves — which directly contradicts what I’d just been told. So where exactly were the 8 items supposedly available in-store, listed as being on Aisle 7? Poor stock management and even poorer customer service. A complete waste of time.

Visited the store yesterday with my 30yesr old daughter and children 11 and 12 They wanted to make an unusual type of picture frame. So they picked up the wood/hinges/screws and the smallest wood glue. No bigger than a little finger. Got to the till and my 30 year old daughter couldn’t get served because of the glue and the staff thought she didn’t look old enough. She is an accountant and then offered digital ID that was refused. So we left the store without purchasing anything. A little common sense should have prevailed.

A small b and q, has got most things Free car park, up to 2 hours. However the car park is tiered and getting heavy stuff up the ramp can be difficult. Disabled parking near the door

Honestly I have stopped using B&Q due their terrible customer service when you get problems. They just refer you to their call centre who are abroad and it’s impossible to get any sense out of them. I gave up trying to get a refund for a faulty item and just accepted the 20 quid loss.

This is just to say a huge thank you to Ryan and Dec from Talke Pits B and Q, who went several extra miles when I came in asking for a discontinued charger to keep my McAllister screwdriver charging. My company teaches plumbing workshops to kids and without their help thirty ten-year-old children would have been without tools tomorrow. Dec searched high and low for the one remaining charger for a McAllister screwdriver (they’re now micro USB but I needed the old barrel type for my eight screwdrivers) until Ryan had the bright idea of checking INSIDE the power tool display. Lo and behold the right type was found and now I can teach my class. Thank you so much B and Q, these guys really pushed the boat out for me, and kept our B and Q purchases running a little longer. Much appreciated from me and the kids!
