Who we are

"Michelin is shaping the future as a world-leading manufacturer of life-changing composites and experiences”

As a pioneer in materials science for over 130 years, Michelin can draw on its unique expertise to make significant contributions to societal progress and the development of a more sustainable world. Thanks to its unparalleled mastery of polymer composites, Michelin is constantly innovating in order to manufacture high-quality tyres and components that are critical for transport, construction, aviation, low-carbon energy production, healthcare and other demanding sectors.

The care that Michelin affords to its products and its intimate understanding of their uses allow it to offer its clients exceptional experiences, whether that’s through data-led and AI-empowered solutions for professional fleets or suggestions for restaurants and outstanding hotels based on the MICHELIN Guide.

The Group has a presence in almost 170 countries and employs over 122,000 people, 6,000 of whom work in R&D. In 2025, Michelin filed 237 patents, bringing its total number of active patents worldwide to over 11,800.

Our content is intended for all audiences, from part-time drivers to road enthusiasts and motoring professionals, with the level of detail tailored to each situation. What doesn’t change is our commitment to providing clear information, however familiar you are with the subject.

How we express ourselves

We address our readers with respect, without being condescending. We naturally adopt a formal tone, not because we want to be distant, but simply out of respect.

Our tone is more informative than it is technical. When we're talking about complex subjects, we take the time to explain them clearly. We avoid jargon when a simple term is enough. We don’t write to impress, we write to be helpful.

How we work

Everything we publish is verified. All the information we provide is based on verifiable data and expertise from our teams. There’s no vague content, no waffle.

Everything is written by humans. Our content is produced by professional writers. It’s then reviewed and validated by industry experts, engineers, lawyers, and our marketing and communications teams. Artificial intelligence may be used occasionally in our processes (such as during translation). When this is the case, we make it clear. AI does not override our own judgement or replace editorial responsibility.

We try to be helpful above all else. Good content is content that answers your question. We place emphasis on content that’s clear, structured and genuinely helpful, without being excessive.

We know our place. Michelin is an expert in tyres and transport. We don’t comment on political or societal issues outside of that sphere. Our content is about what we’re really experts on.

We keep our website up to date. A dedicated team made up of a central content strategist, a global SEO manager (Search Engine Optimisation), performance managers, regional web managers and local representatives ensures the accuracy of our information, regularly updating it and aligning it with the Group’s official positions. The editorial responsibility of the site is assumed by the Michelin Group Communications Department.

The editorial workflow, from draft to publication

Before going live, each piece of content follows a 5-step process, with a specific representative for each step. This process guarantees quality, editorial consistency and the reliability of the information we publish. Each step acts as a point of quality control. No content passes to the next step without being explicitly validated by the person in charge of the current step.

  1. Content written by a professional writer
The author produces the content based on a previously established editorial brief. Guidelines are respected in terms of tone, formatting and position according to the website’s editorial style.

  2. Proofreading by an industry expert and specialist in the subject, employed by Michelin
An expert verifies that the terminology used is precise and that the information is accurate and consistent with industry reality. This step ensures the raw content is accurate before any editorial intervention takes place.

  3. Editorial intervention by the Content Strategist at the Michelin Communications Department
The Content Strategist performs a global proofreading, adapting the content for SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) while ensuring the editorial tone and structure of titles and taglines are respected. This guarantees coherence across the whole website.

  4. Page layout designed by the Michelin webmastering team in Pune, India
The tech team integrates the validated content into the CMS in accordance with the brand’s design guidelines, ensuring that the visuals, tags, formatting and internal links are correct. This team is also responsible for the integration of all language variants.

  5. Local validation and publication by local teams
A member of the local Michelin marketing & communications department, sometimes with the assistance of an SEO agency (Search Engine Optimisation), carries out a final proofreading to ensure local relevance, appropriate tone, and the absence of any errors in collaboration with the local Michelin legal team before giving the green light for publication.

An expert behind every piece of content
